Mounting and hardware solutions for the Maxon motors are not currently outlined but are in development and will be documented at a future date. However, the software is updated to take these motors to facilitate their usage in the development of new designs. An important thing to note regarding the Maxon motors/PCB setup is that the motors do not contain an internal motor driver like the CuberMars AK-series motors do. The PCBs available integrate motor drivers into their design to account for this difference.
Also included in this section is a walkthrough of adding new sensors to the CAN Motor PCB. For the walkthrough, Arduino Nanos used as IMUs are integrated into the exo. The aim of the walkthrough is to familiarize the reader with the process of modifying the OpenExo platform to better suit their needs.
