This is OpenExo's open-source ankle design (actuated by Bowden cables).
A bill of materials for the ankle device
SolidWorks parts and assembly of the device
A step-by-step build guide for the device
A wiring guide for the torque sensors used in the ankle device
You can use the 1/16” cable with 5mm bicycle sheaths.
Use 3/32” cable with larger sheaths (Lexco 7MM2P) are required. The barrel adjustors will need to be drilled out. TPU strain relief for the sheath (shown in pink in the image above) will need to be modified for the larger inner diameter.
Aspects of this design rely on carbon fiber components and sensors that can be purchased. Contact ray@biomotum.com for inquiries related to purchasing assemblies or parts (e.g., calf cuff, foot plate, torque sensor, upright, etc..).
